Pearl barley is the oldest known varieties of barley. It is the least processed because it is obtained from whole, uncrushed barley grains. Only the chaff surrounding the grains is removed, therefore the pearl barley retains all the valuable micro- and macroelements and other nutrients. Pearl barley is a great choice for people who value natural and healthy food. An equally natural, but more highly processed pearl barley is actually a pearl barley, which is additionally broken and polished. In Polish cuisine, pearl barley has been used for centuries. To this day, it perfectly replaces potatoes and is the basis of many Polish dishes.
